Well They're the People That You Meet When You're Walking Down the Street

Here's me being obnoxious and sticking my tongue out at you. Now there's something you don't see every day...Or maybe it is.

I was sitting around pondering what to write about tonight. It's Tuesday and I gave myself a night to relax, since for the next two weeks I should be running around like a crazy(er) person. I was kicking around the idea of writing about the dangers of texting, because Coadster told me one of her friends was texting a boy she liked and accidentally sent him a text that was intended for her girlfriend where she gushed about how excited she was to be texting said boy. I also wanted to say that I RSVP'ed my friend Libby's husband R.'s 40th birthday party with this:

Hey there honey bunches of oats. I'm officially RSVP'ing for the bowling party on the 16th. I checked with my daughter, and for some reason she doesn't want to hang out with her mommy on her 16th birthday party. Who knew? Apparently, though, I am allowed to give her money so she can party with her friends. Awesome.

I will warn you that I haven't bowled since junior high, so the comic factor should be really high.

Okay. See you at the alley.

Churlita

She responded thusly:

I love you.

Which made my extremely boring day at work that much better. If you knew Libby, you would totally understand. I run into her sometimes in the mornings when I'm on my way to work and she's walking her dogs. When I ask her how she is, she always responds with, "I'm just a little bit better than everyone else." And it really is true. Oh, and she swears a lot. See? Now you can like her too.

So, I guess that's all I've got to say in this post. Feel free to tell me about one of your favorite people in the comments.

One of new favorite people is the receptionist at work. She says "hi" every day and she is a fellow "undercover" person like myself. I ran into her outside the building the other day and we talked for about 15 minutes and I found out she runs in similar circles to myself. She stated that up until this point the only people that talked to her were "the old men that hang around the desk" who had less than interesting intent.

I proceeded to tell her I was 36

My friend Sarah, definitely. She shares my appreciation of a girl's night out or a movie night in, and she has been known to bring out the inner extrovert in me. We danced on a platform in a bar in Arizona once and we took some belly dancing lessons together.

I hear the running around crazy part...everything goes whacko for me starting next week. We have guests this weekend, thank god they are low maintenance. After all the STL travels and now full swing wedding, gradutation, wedding, wedding, wedding season....neat! I'm tried just writing that.

I need to get out more.

I love her response! It's a great attitude, and if you keep saying it then hopefully it becomes true.

My favorite changes from day to day I think, but there is a tie right now between two friends who both are down to earth, try to keep a positive attitude, like to have fun, and are 'real' - meaning once in a while they do bitch or cry or whatever. Perfection sucks in a favorite person.

Have fun bowling. Do you have a lot of bowling alleys around there? I guess they are vanishing all over the country.

I do like your friend! She sounds awesome.
Right now I am totally into the security guard here at work. He talks EXACTLY like Randy Jackson on American Idol.

Oh mama! Bowling birthday party? I am so jealous of this guy.

The only way to top it would be a roller rink skate party.

Evil-E,

She sounds cool. I love meeting fellow undercoverers.

Tara,

I love friends who bring me out like that.

DJ,

Go get some rest. goddammit.

Fringes,

me too, if I haven't bowled since junior high...

Nor,

For sure. People who don't bitch or get sad ever are in serious denial and that shit comes out in really f'ed up ways in those kinds of people.

Rel,

Thanks. I do like to swear a lot.

Dmarks,

We certainly don't have as many as we used to.

LauraB.,

It's cool that you like your security guard. Some of them can be a little officious and hard to take.

Gyuss,

I should have my birthday party at a rolling rink this year. the closest one is in Cedar Rapids and that's a half hour away. Damn. It could have been so great.

In the olden days when I was a young person I accidentally dropped a note my friend wrote me in study hall about a boy she liked. The boy picked up the note and started to read it but couldn't read her sloppy hand writing. Whew.

When people ask me how I am I usually say "marvelous" with either a totally perky and sincere or mocking tone.

Churlita said...

Lady,

That does sound marvelous. The nice thing about that, is that people can read it however they want, depending on whether they're half-empty or half-full types.

Libby was my neighbor. Libby kicks tons of ass with her wit and foul language, and there's a bit of wisdom in there to boot.

Churlita said...

Traca,

I bet she misses you. She's having issues with another one of her neighbors.

Are you one of those really fast texters? The text msg you put in this post would seriously take me and hour to punch out on my phone - I am that retardo.

My favorite person is a dog, but she barks a lot, too, so it's like swearing, right?

Churlita said...

Poptart,

That wasn't a text it was an email. I'm not the fastest texter, especially when I'm drunk. Which seems to be when I text the most. Bad idea. I know.
