You'll Drink the Night Away and Forget About Everything

Here is a picture of my beer and my phone and my girl crush's fanny pack.

So, the Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt word was Drink, chosen by DMarks. It was a great word for me for a few reasons. First, I've been running a lot this weekend. The weather was perfect on Friday and Saturday. Today, however it was warmer and much more humid. Since I've been spoiled by the nicer weather, I forgot how important it was to hydrate before I run on the hotter days. I ran the full six miles today, but I was so wiped out afterward, I had to rest and drink tons of fluids. Oops.

The second reason the word was perfect is that this weekend I had to serve as my own cautionary tale. Apparently, I can't drink half as much in the Summer as I can in the Winter. It's kind of weird, huh? I think it's because my metabolism gets so high in the Summer and totally shuts down once it gets cold outside. Plus, I run so much more when it's nice out, and I sweat out all the toxins during the day, so it's like starting fresh every single night with no way to build up a tolerance.

So, kids. The lesson we learned this weekend is to drink responsibly - whether it's alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Now, I think I'll take my leave and watch some After School Specials.

I find the opposite, I get way tippsier in the winter than the summer but I think that may have something to do with the shock to the system you get from stepping into the cold wet outdoors from a nice, warm pub.

churlita,
Winter, summer, it doesn't matter; two drinks and I'm mellow. Any more than 2 ruins the next day.
I slacked on running this weekend and did family play time instead.

Drinking alcohol in the heat does dehydrate a person.

I have been drinking very responsibly...I am responsible for the buzz I had Saturday night. So is the Alien responsible for being my driver.

I tend to get drunker in the summer because I eat less and therefore have more room and less "sponge" in my stomach.

Probably because in the winter...beer warms you up, at least I know it warmed me up in the freezing cold of Poland and Germany!

We all need to be under the influence of H2O during the summer, it's very true. Excellent, health-conscious message and photos.

OK: a) girl crush's fanny pack.
b) more about what happened when you drank too much, please!

Oops, thanks for the reminder on the hunt word.

I tend to forget that I with what I'm eating now I have very, very few carbohydrates to absorb alcohol. I'm good for two drinks. No shots. Shots=Susan making out with random men which in turn=hangover guilt

A lifetime of drinking and I never noticed. But then, I'm all about overcompensating. And calling it balance.

Doesn't seem to matter much.. although a few cold ones on hot day seem to go to fast...I don't drink much beer in the winter... mostly white wine and mixr drinks.. Nicely done..

Mr Atrocity,

I hate that feeling. It usually sobers me right up.

Rel,

Yeah. I shouldn't have more than two either.

Evil-E,

I think that not eating thing is what does it for me too.

RM,

Exactly. And beer feels so heavy in the Summer.

Tara,

I need to seriously start drinking a hell of a lot more water.

Poptart,

Girl crush is rarely without her fanny pack, and I hope you got that email to answer your last question.

Nor,

I can't believe I actually remembered to do it this week.

Susan,

I think you and I have the same problem.

Booda Baby,

I like that calling it balance thing. I may have to adopt that.

Mrs,

I really have to be careful with mixed drinks. Man, I wish I had more tolerance for liquor.

Mr Manuel,

I know. It looks like St Patrick's day all over again.
