Wish You Were Here

Hey, kids. Guess what time it is? That's right. It's time for another installment of Stinky's self-portraits. You know, just in case you've forgotten what she looks like from all those other five million self-portraits I've posted on here.

These posts are great for when I have no life and just want to put up photos. Can anyone explain that weird blogger phenomenon to me? The one where when you are doing things that you can actually write about, your internet goes down and your work is crazy busy? But then the minute you got nothing going on...BAM! You suddenly have the time and the means to write a whole lot of nothing.

I'll have you know that I actually got some sleep last night and felt much better today. I still haven't done shit about all the stuff I've been procrastinating, but now I have an entire weekend to piddle away and maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get my shit together.

I did watch some high school show choir tonight. Stinky took some photos of Coadster in all her pageanty-type hair and make-up. She looks like the poster child for when tomboys go bad... er, I mean, girly. We just haven't had time to load them into the computer.

On the boy front, things are still going strong with Erik. I was joking with T. And K. about how last Fall when T. started dating her St Louis guy, I said, "I'd never be able to do the long distance thing..." And that's why I should never say never. Seriously, though. It's hard. I really don't think there's anyone else I would do this with besides Erik. Most guys I know aren't evolved enough to help me work through all the different angles and be so reassuring and accommodating through it all. So, hopefully, we'll get to see each other again next weekend. Until then, it's all texts and phone calls. Thank god Erik has a really hot phone voice.

Churlita,
Thers nothing like some attractive photographic art to start the day.

I was fortunate that I took my year end break when I did. I really had no feature material, no ideas, and not one funny thing to say.

But, that being said, I agree, when me and Alien were having problems with his server and could not even log into my blog, I had four hundred ideas and even more things to say but no forum on which to express them. I got back and going and had nothing.

She looks so much like you! I accidentally did a close up of one of them and saw a scar on her upper forehead. I'm sure she'll be excited to know that.
I wish you a happy long distance relationship. As my mom always says, if it's meant to be it's meant to be.

long distance can be nice in that he won't get to really smother you

Perhpas this is Churlita's First Law of Blogging? "The number of ideas one has is inversely proportional to the amount of access to the internet one gets to post them". Or:

o = (m-i)/m

where m -s the maximum number of possible ideas, i is the number of ideas you have and the opportunities you have to post (o) is a value that varies between 0 (no opportunity to post) and 1 (unfettered access).

I like texting, but then halfway through my messages I realize it would be quicker to just tell the person what I was going to text them.

I hate text messaging. I never quite understood it as I always found it easier to just call someone.

Kids and their self portraits crack me up!

Tell me this, what constitutes a really hot phone voice? Just curious.

Your daughter sure isn't camera shy.

I'm glad to hear things are going well with you and Erik. I would believe that long-distance relationships are a bit trying.

How long of a distance? It's not like he's across the country, right? It'll give you plenty of room for a proper courtship.

Wouldn't that be a deal breaker? I'm happy that all the men I know with - um - what to call them - deal-breaking voices are just friends. It's also so cute about the high school girl thing. Trying to look sooper sexy but not at the same time. It's that face book -Paris Hilton phenomenon, too. Where the HELL did they learn that? Dip the head so the peepers look up shyly and like there's a harlequin romance going on in that unexercised brain.

Wow. Clearly, I didn't blog today and clearly, I should have. Only, nothing was going on!

I love seeing your pictures of Stinky. It always makes me think of Girlie Girl, who makes the EXACT SAME faces in her many, many self portraits.
I think long distance things can work out if both people are willing to make it work. Clearly you both want it to work, so there is no reason it won't.
