That It Ain't No Sin to be Glad You're Alive

Here is a picture of an icy tree still wearing its leaves.

Soooooo, let me tell you how it is. I'm not super drunk, but I have a little buzz going. I had a few issues with my phone earlier today, so I wasn't able to text the way I wanted to. I went to the Verizon store after work, and they cleaned it up and then updated some software and now it's back in working order.

After I got my phone back, I noticed I had a voice mail from my friend Ondine. I had to zip from the Coralridge mall to the Sycamore mall in 20 minutes to catch No Country for Old Men. I got there just in time and it was totally amazing. It definitely wasn't the feel good hit of the season, but who would see a Cormack McCarthy film adaptation looking for that?

After the movie, we went to the Sanctuary to drink and share appetizers. We apparently arrived right after a friend of mine did his annual reading of Dylan Thomas' "A Child's Christmas in Wales". I missed the reading, but I did get to see a lot of people I worked with at The Mill in the eighties. I also ran into that guy who was playing Sudoku at the Deadwood a few weeks ago, who came up to our table after overhearing our conversation? Remember that guy? Well, at the Deadwood, he felt really bad that he didn't remember my name. So, tonight he gave me a hug and made a big point to let me know he remembered my name and even used it at least twice in every sentence. It cracked me up.

I got home by eleven and talked to Mr St Louis for a bit, but I think I was a little too half-drunk and babbling. Poor guy.

Now, it's late and I have to go. I promise I'll be better about reading and commenting on blogs, replying to my commenters and emailing people starting tomorrow. 'Kay?

You are on a roll right now...seems the boy-os are falling all over themselves to get at you. Maybe the Steelers mojo turned into make-out mojo?

Watching the game tonight?, speaking of Steelers?

So weird. I was THIS close to going to see No Country last night. I'm all the more determined to see it now.

Sounds like a good movie. Can't go wrong with Tommy Lee.

It is a hell of a flick. Some incredibly tense scenes. And Javier Bardem defines "bad ass."

How much more can you pack into one post?

We're going to hold you to it. Half drunk posts are very fun to read though so keep them coming.

I've heard that movie is really good. I might have to see it.

Is your friend's rendition of a A Child's Christmas in Wales read with a sonorous Richard Burton style delivery?

Our headmaster at school used to read it every Christmas in Assembly. He was Welsh; the accent helped a lot.

Sounds like quite an evening! I have been wanting to see that movie too.
We took a vote and decided to forgive any online lapses you have committed due to l-o-v-e. :-D

That was a very very tiny buzz if you could spell so well. I expect a better one tonight. Even if it's only a hot chocolate one. I can never make up my mind when it's winter, which one's better.

That's so cool you go to movies. We only keep the video/dvd segment of the industry alive.

REl,

I know. I'm trying.

Evil-E,

Oh, I don't think he was hitting on me. I think he just felt bad because he didn't remember my name.

Trevor Jackson,

Darn. WE could have met. if you ever see me out, please introduce yourself. I swear I'm not crazy. Ask Brando and TLB...Okay, they'd probably tell you I'm a little quirky.

DMarks,

Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem were both amazing too.

Brando,

I loved it. Straight up.

No Regrets,

Believe me. I don't want to find out.

Egan,

You should.

Mr Atrocity,

Not quite like that. he is from Wales so he has a nice accent.

LauraB,

Thank god for the love clause.

Mrs.,

I was already there today. So, I was good.

Booda Baby,

I wasn't super drunk. But I'm right there with you on the hot chocolate love.
