Golden Slumbers Fill Your Eyes, Smiles Awake You When You Rise

Here is the guy having a cat.

Soooo. Archie didn't harass me last night when I went to bed. he doesn't always, so I didn't think much of it. Archie also didn't harass me when my alarm went off this morning, and that was very strange. At first I thought that maybe Archie got used to sleeping with Stinky whoile I was gone. I went up to Ask Stinky if he was up there, but she hadn't seen him.

Then, it hit me. Right before I went to bed, I opened the door and checked the mail. I had already turned the lights off. Crap! I ran to the front door and called Archie. Luckily, he came running. He had been nesting the next door neighbor's bushes. Poor guy.

I'm pretty sure he was born in the shelter, so I don't think he had ever been outside before. I can't imagine what the hell he thought when he was suddenly in a new place that was cold and dark and there was no food or attention. I imagine it was his worst nightmare.

When I told the guy about it, he said he thought that Archie may have learned his lesson about trying to run outside any time we opened the door, but this is a cat who thinks he can fit into a cereal box, so I have my doubts....

Poor Archie! Thank goodness he stuck around. We've had a few adventures with Logan sneaking out, but fortunately we've always managed to find him (sometimes 12 hours later!). He seems to kind of go instantly feral the second he's outside...

Churlita,
Cats are fast learners. If he does it again, rest assured he didn't mind it.
After spending a few hours on our closed in but unheated porch convinced our cat to avoid the door.

So Archie had to brave the elements last night! It sounds like he adapted, but I'll bet he was happy to be home! :)

When I lived in the other apartment that had a balcony, I locked Skittles out there one night without knowing it. She was ecstatic to come back inside the next day, but then meowed to go back outside an hour later.

Poor Archie! But I bet everyone who has ever had a cat has a similar story. Cats are sneaky and sometimes they will just get themselves into fixes :-)

Well, you know he at least has a little bit of smarts. He didn't go very far! I'm sure he'll survive...
Mine, well, he only had a balcony to stay on. Not sure what would have happened if it were out in the real big wide world!

I am sure glad he stayed close by and came back!

When Jess was younger, she left her dog out overnight on accident. She felt so bad!
