We'll Take a Cup of Kindness Yet

Oh kids, yesterday was crazy. Except to sleep, I think I was home a total of two hours all day. Since the girls are having some friends stay the night for the holiday tonight, I will be home most of the day today in order to clean earlier and then make sure no boys show up uninvited later.

Here's wishing everyone an amazing new year. I'm leaving you with some photos from a party my parents attended in the late sixties when we lived in Arizona. These are some of the ones my mom must have sent back to my grandmother in Chicago because there is not only writing on the back, but names and arrows pointing to certain people on the actual picture. (I can barely read the stuff on the front, or I'd document that here as well) I'll put the text from the back, exactly as it was written, under each photo.

New Year's Eve party at a Mexican restaurant where they had Flamenco dancers for entertainment. And an orchestra for dancing. I was on the left side of the table with my hand up to my hat. And Vince Buckley and Florence were on either side of me. We had a marvelous time.

These were the Flamenco dancers at the New Year's Eve party.

I have been really sure what a Flamenco dancer was. It sounds like something a regular dancer should be pissed about being called.

on a side note the word verification is "ujerks". The "new" blogger is an asshole.

When I was a kid I used to call them Flamingo dancers and wondered why they didn't all wear pink feathers.

Word verification cracks me up. I agree, the new blogger really is an asshole.

Good luck watching for boys tonight. I sure don't miss those days.

Happy New Year Churlita. It was a pleasure getting to know you a little this year.

Yeah, I know. New Year's was so much easier when they were little and you could pretend it was midnight at 9 o'clock and send them to bed.

Thanks. It's been fun getting to know you as well.

I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy the party, but my daughters will and that's all that's important. I will definitely rest tomorrow, though.

Here's to a Happy New Year. If you're up for it tomorrow, stop by and say hello.

TLB,

Thanks. You and Brando too. I will try to stop by. We see a movie every New Year's Day and I have no idea what time all their friends will go home. I will definitely try, though. I haven't seen you guys in forever.

Happy New Year!

Love the photo's with the writing on the front, very out of the box.... this evening sounds dangerously close to that teenager party you said never again to, have fun!

No. This party was very different. They each got to invite 2 girls over to spend the night. NO BOYS. It was pretty mellow, thank god.
