This Heat has Got Right Out of Hand

It is supposed to get up to 90 degrees here in Iowa. I love hot weather, so I'm saying, "Finally!" I have (get) to mow a lawn or two after work, so ask me later if I'm still saying that...

We had our first Monday Night Ride and it was a lot of fun. It went a lot later than normal and The Guy and I were both pretty beat by the time we got home. Tonight, we're making a huge point to stay home and relax. Ahhhhh.

The swarmer termites are back in our house. Coadster texted me, freaking out and said they were everywhere and Archie was eating them. Lovely. Well, at least he's getting his protein. I put a call into the pest control people but haven't heard back yet. It's a damn good thing I'm persistent.

Churlita,
Got the bikes out after work; cleaned, tuned up, new air in the tires....Yay.
Then took both for a spin. No, not at the same time, one after the other silly :). One is a mountain bike the other a racing one. Now you can call me wobbly legs.
You can keep the 90's though!

Archie's using his powers for good rather than evil or cantankerous this time! Good boy. Eat those pesky termites.

We're not up to 90 yet, but the high 60s felt awesome yesterday. We're supposed to be in the 70s today.

The photos of the cats enjoying the scenery are so cute.

The sight of swarmer termites is usually a sign that they are about to start a new colony. It also means that a termite infestation is highly likely. However, swarmer termites look very similar to winged ants, making it difficult to determine which is which. Given the possible consequences, being able to distinguish between the two species is a must. Swarmer termites have straight antennae; winged ants have bent ones. Swarmer termites have two pairs of wings that are equal in size, while winged ants have one pair that is smaller than the other.

Well, at least Archie had fun chasing those swarmer termites. Haha! But that much flying around could be a sign that there are a lot more lurking around. Hopefully the pest control people were able to find the source of your termite problem, so that you could be rid of it for good. Good luck, and take care!
