I'm posting photos of fallen leaves. Here is a photo of a leaf that landed on the cobblestone on Brown Street.
Tonight you all get a quickie. It's been a long rollercoastery week and I'm beat. I don't have many plans for the weekend yet. Tomorrow, Stinky is having a couple of girls stay the night after the football game. Coadster has a friend who usually stays over at least one night of the weekend, so she may be here as well.
Here are some leaves that went down on the sidewalk on Bloomington Street.
The weather is supposed to be amazing, so I'm definitely running as much as possible. If I can find a big block of time, I'd like to ride my bike toward Kalona and take bucolic photos of barns with quilts painted on them and if I'm lucky, I may even try to steal the souls of a few Amish people riding around in buggies. Of course, this is all dependent on that big imaginary block of time I think I'm going to find somewhere. In other words, I doubt any souls will be robbed this weekend. A girl can dream though, can't she?
This leaf had a softer landing on the grass in a yard on Rochester Street.
I'm sure there will also be some painting and drawing and movie watching and beer drinking and cooking of food. Basically, it will just be another weekend. I love my mellow time.
As usual, I'm interested to know how people with actual lives plan to spend the next couple of days. Help me live vicariously through you in the comments, please.

whew! we will be busy bees..
I have no plans. I may till up the garden again. Other than that, I am going to try to enjoy some good weather while it lasts.
I really want to see the quilts on the barns!!! Please do it!
I'm rock climbing with my ex-sh... yeah, really.
If you do hop on the bike, be sure to take the Sharon Center road off highway 1. After you get thru Sharon Center, you are in Amish central. I've seen some great photo opportunities almost every time I drive down that way.
Believe it or not I'm planning on hanging out at the house all weekend. I might go see my grandparents but that's totally dependent on if they ever answer their phone. I don't think they'd avoid me but who knows.
I have nothing planned this weekend, and I'm loving it. If the weather is going to be beautiful, and it does look that way, I'll be spending time out by my apartment's pond - perhaps catching up on reading, drawing, drinking coffee, etc.
I love the leaf shots, it makes me want to jump in a pile of leaves.
Pumpkin carving! Job hunting for C. Sleeping in a bed.
Oh, I got a little misty eyed at those leaf shots. Isn't that a great great thing that an image is so super loaded with memory that I'm right there in autumn?
I'm SOOOO homesick today. Please take extra big breaths of IC air and ... I don't know what you'd do next, but ... never mind.
No no no NO. That was me. Sorry. I'd say I have to learn how to log out but that's probably not going to happen any time soon.
I have to go to a "retreat" which in no way will resemble something AIG executives attend. (The woman who is running it always schedules too much crap. But I can't get out of it.)
I leave this afternoon about 3 and then leave the retreat early on Sunday for a full day of work at church and then a rally thing in the afternoon.
By Monday I'll need to go to work to rest up!
I don't know...your weekends never seem to turn out as quiet as you think.
On Saturday, I don't think I have any special plans, but on Sunday I am having lunch with some friends, so I am inordinately excited about that.
My son left last night for Tuscon with his dad, who is home from Iraq for two weeks. It's their boy time and I am struggling big time to put myself to good use. I mostly want to paint, but haven't. He won't be back until late Monday night, so I have some rambling to do.
Tom is out of town until monday night so I am on my own with your niece and nephew. We are going on a Halloween nature hike at the coservation area tonight. I have some major house work to do. Tom has my cell so if you need to reach me call my home phone #.
The leaves are beautiful! I just love fall.
Enjoy your ride / drive south. I've only seen the barns south of Kalona on Hwy 1. I'd like to see the rest some day. Would love to see pics of any you find. I second the recommendation to drive through Sharon Center. Be careful if you're on your bike though.... so as not to get hit by a car on that stretch of road. I love the bridge over the creek on the flat stretch.
Also, if you've never been to the Golden Delight Bakery (Amish bakery a couple miles north of Kalona and a mile east), check it out sometime. Delicious donuts, breads, and pies.
Aaah, leaves. We don't get many fall leaves out here, since everything's a freaking evergreen. Sigh.
I'll be packing up for a week in a hotel while our floors get refinished. I'm also getting my hair trimmed and the most exciting thing this weekend will be my annual autumnal hair dye job. I'm going all ginger-y for fall.
Maybe if there's time we'll go for a walk - it's beautiful outside these days and I feel like I should enjoy it while it lasts.
Have a good weekend Churl.
