Bells Will Ring, the Sun Will Shine

Hey, here's another flower shot that Stinky took.

Sooo, tonight we're onto the usual Wednesday, it's late and I'm tired post. I went to Shakespeare's for supper club and it was great, as usual. Then I headed to the Dublin. My friend J. was there. She said she stopped down because she knew I came down on Wednesdays and we had a fun time and a great talk.It was the perfect mid-week break.

Now, for more wedding talk. I think Stinky and I are going to do a little shopping for something to wear for it tomorrow night. I have one dress that will do, but it's not exactly what I want. I thought I'd check out another store because my friend K. said she found really cute sun dresses for $17 and that sounds like exactly what I want. I'll let you know. I'm sure you're all just dying with anticipation.

The other thing is that I have an actual real live date for the wedding. Weird, I know. He's a boy who lives out of town, and he's coming down for the weekend, so it should be fun. The guys I know who are single and hang out at the bar, say they purposely don't bring dates to weddings because that's the best pick-up place ever. I've never met a guy at a wedding before, but I've known people who have. How about you, gentle readers. Have you ever met someone at a wedding? Inquiring minds want to know...

I find maintaining a pleasing level of intoxication is the only way I can cope with weddings. Sobbing and in-fighting relatives are collectively a bit too much to cope with.

Oh and I fixed that broken link on my comment on this post. Sorry about that.

I have never found weddings to be a fertile pick-up spot. Yes, I could have tried to pick up some friend's single, horny, and drunk aunt who was like 50 something, but no thanks.

I did talk to a nice-ish girl at a friend's wedding once. We got along OK, but she kept mentioning how beautiful the wedding was and how she cannot wait for her special day. RED FLAGS went up in a heartbeat. I simply gave her a hug at the end of the night and mentioned my fictitious girlfriend at the time.

I have never gone to wedding without a date, although one date i took years ago to my oldest brothers wedding was okay, and everyone though he was my boyfriend, I was like gross... Thanks but no thanks.. so I wouldn't go to wedding now without my BHM...Hope you have a great time...Date or no date..

Ah, sundresses. It is the season. I'm just gonna sit here for awhile and think about that.

and yeah, weddings were always great places to hook up. Mainly because wedding parties have lots of couples songs and so few of the other guys know how to lead.

I don't really do weddings. I've had some sweet after wedding party hook ups that show up at the bar though. Grrr...sorry, I drifted off for a moment..

Never hooked up at a wedding, nor have I noticed an abundance of dateless singles at any wedding I've attended.

Yay for sundress shopping!

I've never picked up anyone at a wedding. I always had a date, dammit. :-)

Personally, I think it is better to head to a wedding with a date...beacuse otherwise, you go as a single gal and you are on display and open for matchmaking...yikes.

Maybe we will run into each other in town this weekend-I'm there for a wedding as we are all staying downtown. Shoot me a text if you end up in ped mall area.

Have you ever met someone at a wedding?

Yeah. Right. I have, but it was someone I already knew and the romance, as it were/was/whichever, had nothing to do with wedding stuff and everything to do with: Ooh. Here's an opportunity.

I love sun dresses, especially if they're only $17! What's the name of the store?

Nope, haven't met anyone at a wedding just yet. But my friend's wedding is next month so maybe then? Who knows!

Supper club sounds fun, how did that start?

Mr Atrocity,

I hear you. I've never been one of those girls who have dreamt about my wedding my entire life. This one will be super relaxed and fun.

both of your scenarios sound pretty scary.

Yeah. Now you have a permanent date, Mine's more like a temp.

I'm sure there will be plenty.

I was just talking to a guy who said his favorite thing in the Summer, was to see the sun hitting a girl's sundress just right so that he could see her legs through the fabric. Boys are so funny.

You always find a way to hook up. I really admire that about you.

I know. I'm kind of excited to try on cute dresses.

I'll get a hold of you. I'm sure we'll go down to the Dublin after the nuptials.

Booda Baby,

I love it when opportunities present themselves.

It's Gordmans. My friend went there on Sunday and said there were tons of cute dresses.

I'm not sure how supper club started. Basically, we meet at different restaurants on Wednesday nights. It's a great way to break up the week.

I've only been to weddings with a date/fiance/husband (all the same guy) so no stories here.

I do have a hilarious story from my wedding (104 years ago) where one of X's college buddies (and a groomsman) was D.R.U.N.K. at the reception and was hitting on the daughter of my mom's friend. Sadly for him, she was under-aged and the mom hustled her out of there... after he tried making out with her in the hall-way to the restrooms.

Damn you for being an hour earlier than me! I keep wanting to be the first commenter, but no go... oh well...

I've never met anyone at a wedding, but it's quite interesting that I've heard that before! Damn, I need to go to more weddings!

Hmm. I don't go to a lot of weddings. I like them - but, no, I've never met anyone at a wedding or had a date (I've been someone's date, once) for a wedding. I'm usually in the pack of "used to be closer friends with the bride" sort of people.

I think the thing is to find action at a wedding that you're not invited to. All the dressed up boys have no connection to you or your life, then. Maybe I'll start working in catering...

I never have, then again I haven't been to a wedding in a few years. But this summer I have about five to attend this summer (I have a lotta friends getting married, all under 25, why!) so I'll observe and get back to you on that one.

Those men, they're getting the idea from Wedding Crashers, aren't they?

Do you enjoy how I repeated 'this summer' twice in the above comment? I've lost my English back in Spain!
