If I Pick Up Speed, Get Out of My Way

Remember how I said we might get an ice storm the other day? Well, we did. I think that railing looks good dressed in ice fringe.

So, my internet is back up and running, which means I didn't get shit done around the house. No surprise there. That's okay. I have all weekend to try and finish some projects.

Speaking of the weekend...We only get 2 days this week, so I plan on trying to make the best of those days. Tomorrow night, I think Stinky is having a couple of girls spend the night. Coadster has a big show choir event in Wisconsin, so she'll probably go to bed early. That might just leave me hanging by myself, drinking beer and watching movies again, and that's just a-okay with me.

Coadster and her show choir friends on the bus to a competition. Does anybody else notice the absence of jazz hands in this photo?

Saturday will be my day to get projects done. There's talk of rain, or freezing rain, or snow, or some other kind of Wintry precipitation, and that's okay, because then I won't even be tempted to do any yard work, and I can concentrate on my many, many indoor projects.

My girlcrush and her husband are rumored to be coming to town on Saturday night to see their friend's band play. I have no idea what all will go down or how, but I want to at least try to see them for a beer at some point in the evening.

So, how about all you all? Will you be stuck inside trying to escape Winter precipitation or venturing out trying to catch a drink with your girl crushes?

Churlita,
Going home after work today. Working 2 hrs away from home, but no call, no weekends. So unless you send me an ice storm, I'll be home every weekend.

I think the notion of jazz hands reflects in some of those enthusiastic smiles. Great photo, it reminds me of fun times in high school!

I have to go visit my mom yet again: brother in town from west coast. NO MORE TRAVELLING!

For once, it seems like Chicago is an island of relatively mild weather. Sounds horrendous there. I talked to a friend who is in LA on a long-awaited vacation, and the weather there is shitty too.

We're having Bubs and his wife over for cocktails tonight. Looking forward to it.

I agree with Tara. There may not be any jazz hands, but there's at least a couple of jazz faces.

We're supposed to get some snow tomorrow or Sunday, but it's not supposed to be super-cold, thank goodness.

Remember when going someplace on a bus was considered fun, instead of riding to work next to the unwashed masses?

I like the fact that you noticed an absence of jazz hands! Ha.

I have a date on Sat. and another on Sun. Tonight I'll just deal with the house and spend time with my boys.

Have fun Churlita!

Sooo many projects to do. Hopefully I will resist sleeping the day away and actually do some of them.

aren't expected to get rain or snow that I am aware of.. Going to friends on Sayurday for some Rockin' with Rock Band.. Which I have never ever played.. Jazz hands would've been very appropriate and neccessary..

Make sure you get to see your friends.. even for a little while..and have fun...

Have yourself one of those crazy Churlita style weekends, okay?

I have to work on Saturday, but DR is coming over Saturday evening, so I'm all good.

I had a pleasant weekend. I saw Legion in the theater and watched Star Trek in the basement. Besides that, not much happened.

Oh ick and dangerous, those ice storms. Even from afar, I mean (although it's a fantastic photo!)

I think I'd be very happy to stay at home, too - not because of the ice and cold and snow - but there's a big magnetic pull of 'this is a place I have to and want to create.'
