Everybody's Coming Home for Lunch These Days

This is a guy wearing fake corn on his head...Apparently, he's proud of his Iowa roots.

Well, this weekend wasn't as productive as I'd planned. So, it goes. I'll just have to try to get more done during the week.

Friday night I stayed home with Coadster. You know how I said I had fulfilled my quota on Hitler assassination plot movies? Well, on Friday we watched Defiance. So, yes. It was about the Holocaust and I'm sure if they could have assassinated Hitler, they would have, but it wasn't really about that. We both liked it, though. I always appreciate it when they show good people who are shot full of flaws. It makes a movie so much more believable.

Saturday was pretty mellow. Coadster was at her show choir dealie and Stinky went to the Fieldhouse to work-out and then to her high school to watch the speech team tournament. she had never been to one before and thought it was pretty interesting. The left me to hang out by myself. I ran in the rain (which felt really weird in January) and sorted through a bunch of crap I've been putting off. My moving in and fixing things up process has been me moving all the stuff I didn't want to deal with into the kitchen after I did each room. So, yesterday I finally tackled all of that. I still have a ton of papers on my kitchen table to sort through, but the bulk is done. Finally.

Here's me at Soldier Field for the Bears/Saints game almost exactly 2 years ago. I'm a Bears fan first and foremost and sorry to all my readers who are Vikings fans...But, GO SAINTS!

Saturday night was fun. It just ended earlier than I had hoped. As I said, my girl crush was in town with her husband. I picked G. up and headed down to the Dublin. A bunch of our friends were there, but the girl crush was at the Yacht Club seeing a band. She got down around a quarter til 11. Of course, 15 minutes later, I got a text from the people Stinky was babysitting for saying they were coming home and I could pick up Stinky. So, that was that. Quick, but not nearly dirty enough. Hopefully, next time they come, it will work for me to stay out later.

On Sunday, I woke up with a migraine. Shit. I haven't had a bad one in a long, long time, so I guess I was due. Even with my migraine meds, it knocked me out for most of the day. I get the weird vision thing that makes me feel like I'm going to puke with them and that's super fun too. Somehow, I managed to get a run in today. I actually took the second half of my pill this evening, so I think it's finally sufficiently snuffed out. Of course, that just means that I have my work doubly cut-out for me this week.

I hope you all had a much more or less productive weekend than I had...Depending on what you were shooting for.

Is "Defiance" the one that stars Daniel Craig?

I've never seen a speech team tournament either. I'd much rather watch one than be a participant.

I'm glad the Saints won too but can't believe you went for a run after a migraine... wow.

Migraines, ugh. I used to get them in high school. I realized a few years back that they stopped when two things happened-- I stopped living with my father and I started drinking.

We had the game on at work last night. I went to college with Sean Peyton (he was my best friend Jim's frat brother), but Kim is from Minneapolis. I was torn. Brett Favre really screwed the pooch by passing the ball and getting an interception rather than taking a chance on a long kick. It's time for him to hang it up.

Sounds like you got plenty done with the kitchen project alone! Not to mention the running...even in the rain and after a migraine. And with a fox and in a box.

Migraines stink. I don't get them as often as I used to - you have my sympathy.

Defiance was good, but for a truly great story read the book Jack and Rochelle.

This Vikings fan was pretty upset, but now I'll cheer for the Saints and I hope they get a victory at their first-ever Super Bowl. Lord knows that town could use a break.

I have had migraines on and off for years, but never bad enough to warrant pills.. I usually tough it out till I can no more.. I can't imagine running in the rain after having one.. It's about time that The Saints got a break.. Go Saints!

I didn't do much most of the weekend..vegged out and played on the puter wall the while still potty training my little man..

Yes, yes, yes: Goooo Saints. You know I come from the same loyalty territory as you (although the Vikings will never be as not liked as the Packers. 'Not liked' - I like that. Ha.)

Your migraines are CRAZY! (Oh no. Now I remember I never wrote about all the stuff I learned at the women's prosperity conference and the astonishing deep breathing/rock and roll meditation exercises. Eek. Since it's unlikely I ever will, I wish you'd google it. I'm guessing it helps you in the same way a good run does, only by activating other parts of your healing whatever it's called.)

Girl Crush mention with no girl crush pictures? Boo!

I heard Defiance is pretty good.

Jess gets migraines occasionally too and she loses some vision. Not good.

Tara, Yes. And Lieb Shriver (sp?). I love both of them very much.

Pamela, The weird thing about my migraines, is that the only time they don't hurt is while I'm running. It must have to do with the veins constricting or whatever causes them.

Johnny, I concur. He just needs to stay retired this time.

Rel,

It is. I've had them since I was 10, so at least I'm used to it and at least I have meds.

LauraB.,

Yea! Dr. Seuss has entered my comment section.

MnMom, Yeah. You kind of have to root for the Saints. They're due.

Mrs., I didn't get any meds for them until a couple of years ago. They make all the difference in the world.

BoodaBaby,

I'll check it out. I promise.

Mr Manuel,

I only had one girl crush photo and it was with people who may or may not want it posted on my blog, so I had to leave it off. Next time. I swear.
