Go Ahead, Be Gone With It

Here is what all the rain looks like as it tries to get me on my screened-in-porch.

Dude. We got so much rain and flash flooding today it was sick. The basement at work even flooded and it didn't flood two years ago during the big one. I'm ready for some sunshine and clear skies for a while, but it looks like we're only getting a day off before it all starts again. The good thing is that all the swollen creeks and rivers look delicious - like liquid milk chocolate.

Other than that, I don't have much to report. I'm totally obsessing on my book right now. I just want to finish it, so I can get on with my life. I'm seriously thinking things like, "I don't really need to stop reading to make dinner, do I? Hell, we all just ate yesterday...." So, in the interest of preventing an intervention led by my daughters, I'm going to leave you to finish my book and become functional again.

We're having constant rain on the West Coast as well. I am still waiting for my Seasonal Affective Disorder to clear up, even though it's mid-June. Gah!

Churlita,
It's raining very other day here, but we need it since the winter was so dry. So, did you finish????

The pipes were acting up this past week at my apartment again. The smell of stagnant water mixed with damp carpet and a poor attempt at a cherry-scented air freshener hits people in the face as they enter the building. It could be a thousand times worse, though.

I know all about "needing" the rain, but I still don't care for it :-)

Yes, did you finish your book?

Wow, my word verification is "psychob". Hm.

Jeci, I know. We finally got sun today, and we had almost forgotten what it felt like.

Rel, We're at that scary place here, where every time it rains, we have to worry about flooding again.

Tara, That sounds pretty rank. I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

Ananda, it's so good. It's kind of a mystery, but a well written one with interesting women protaganists.

Skyler's, Uh huh. You're jsut kidding. Riiiiiight.

Booda Baby, Read - devoured. Whatever you want to call it...

Laura, I have about 30 pages left. I'll probably stay up too late tonight too, but at least it will be done and I can move on.

I, too, think of the chocolate river whenever we have lots of rain! Specifically, the one in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
