Choking On the Ashes of Her Enemy

Here are a bunch of cute little puppies and kittens hanging from their necks.

Tonight was my down night and boy did I do some serious relaxing. I won't even detail all the geeky lame stuff I did. You know how sometimes I set really big goals for myself? Well, tonight my goal was to be in my jammies by seven and I'm proud to say I made it. I got lucky by running into my landlord on my way home from work, so I could hand him the rent check right then. At least I didn't have to drive it over to his house after I got home from work. With me, it's not so much doing whatever it is I'm supposed to do, it's remembering to do it.

Tomorrow Coadster is playing in the powder puff football game. I think it's kind of a ridiculous name for a girl contact sport. If you remember high school at all, you know that teenage girls are rarely powdery or puffy. Most of the girls in my high school could be straight up vicious, which is exactly why I usually chose to hang out with guys.

Rumor has it, that a friend of mine who lives a little bit on the outskirts of Iowa City will be in town tomorrow night. A bunch of girls might meet for sushi and then go to the Picador to hear music. Because of Coadster's game, I probably won't make it for dinner, but I'm thinking of at least doing a cameo appearance at the bar. I don't normally go out late on a work night, but I would love to see my friend again. We had so much fun at T.'s birthday dinner. I'm also thinking that having a beer or two with my friends before bed, just might help me get to sleep before 2. Wish me luck.

I have never heard of Powder Puff football.. Do they run around with the ball and powder puffs screaming insanely?

I remember powder puff football. When they'd announce the date for it over the loud speaker, people rolled their eyes and questioned the name.

You're right, "powder puff" is a contradiction to the personality of the girls in high school.

Good luck with the beer tonight! I hope you are able to fall asleep in your favorite bed before 2!

It's barely morning and I'm thinking that pajamas is a SUPERB goal. I wonder if it's a good thing to aim for being in them by 4.

The Powder Puffy name is a kick. Coadster has a good chance of being MVP, I think. But that's based entirely on her mother's photo caption.

Could call it Powerpuff football instead. However, those cartoon girls have mere digitless flippers for hands. They'd have a tougher time with a football than a Sleestak would.

mmmmm, jammies.

Rainy and rainy and rainy here. All I want is jammies and and a blankie....and maybe someone to cuddle with under the blankie but that's another topic.

powder puff football always smacked of mud wrestling to me. Some sort of exhibitionist crap they got past the administration under the guise of "fairness" or something for homecoming. blech

I've been without internet for a few days and you have been posting like crazy.
You make it hard on a guy to keep up.

Congrats on the PJ success. I vote for many beers with the gal pals.

Mrs,

They scream insanely, but there are no actual powder puffs.

Tara,

Unfortunately no beer or powder puff. The falling asleep in my bed is destined to happen.

Booda Baby,

If I had my way, I would wear pj's all day.

Lady,

Thanks for the vibes, man.

Dmarks,

I would love to see Sleestaks play football.

Stepping,

I know. It's kind of hard to trust it this far inland.

Not,

The school is not so down with the powder puff football because the girls all get hurt. It got canceled not rescheduled today anyway.

Rel,

Good to hear from you. Your trip sounds amazing. I can't wait to read the next installment.

Killer,

I try to write every day. Don't feel like you have to keep up. It's just me going, blah, blah, blah anyway.

Chance,

Thanks. It came on my iPod that day when I was running so it was fresh in my head.
